Govt schools have fewer holidays for Hindu festivals, more for Muslim festivals: Bihar govt dilemma
Bihar government's latest holiday calendar for government schools in the state ahead of 2024 has sparked uproar. Following the holiday list release, the Education Department is drawed attention of many Hindu leaders, who have slammed the Govt the alleged cancellation of holidays for several Hindu festivals.
Many lashed out INDI Alliance led Bihar govt in social media allegding that Govt has reduced Hindu festival's like Krishna Janmastami, Shivaratri etc. from holiday list and increased Muslim festival's holidays.
On CM Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government reportedly reducing the number of holidays for the state’s schools during Hindu festivals, Union Minister Nityanand Rai says, " Bihar govt is doing appeasement in the state. Leaves for Hindu festivals have been reduced and the leaves of Muslim brothers have been increased...this is Nitish govt's appeasement...sabotaging Hindus' sentiments like this is not good. Hindus of Bihar are watching and they are seeing this biasedness, when the time comes, they will give befitting reply...this decision must be changed and BJP won't sit quietly on this matter"
